Grace in your heart and flowers in your hair.

3 Jan

Yeay! A brand new year… December must be the hardest month to me, a huge summer lovin’ girl. I don’t even want to get into that too much. The last hours of 2011 we spend with two dear friends in a beautiful little town playing music all night. Each of us taking turn finding great songs from the record collection present. After hours of playing records we switched to youtube, which made the night endless! These were the songs that stuck with me:

And there will come a time, you’ll see, with no more tears.
And love will not break your heart, but dismiss your fears.
Get over your hill and see what you find there,
With grace in your heart and flowers in your hair.

From after the Storm by Mumford and Sons

1. ‘Two Way Street’ by Kimbra: for her amazing songs are even better and stronger than Gotye. Amazing inspiring young woman that brings a great new personal style with overflowing passion.

2. ‘Roscoe’ by Midlake: a song that needs to be listened to while driving in a van through the states.

3. ‘After the Storm’ by Mumford and Sons: for the striking lyrics that fit me so well right now.

4. ‘Proud Mary’ by Tina Turner: for the strong and beautiful women that take that stage and show the world some girl power.

5. ‘America’ by Simon & Garfunkel: for these two voices that work so well together and bring moments of magic to a song when they cross.

6. ‘ I Feel For You’ by Prince: for we had to miss out on the best song by Prince because it wasn’t in the house and Prince is nowhere to be found on Youtube.
